Tom Goetz

Tom joined Phoenix Cyber in 2016 and currently serves as a Director of Engineering with over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity and network engineering. He is well-versed in designing, implementing and maintaining security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) platforms, as well as integrating security tools to speed up alert analysis and remediation to improve organizational efficiency. Tom’s expertise lies in his ability to manage incident response processes at scale, leveraging automation and orchestration tools to quickly identify and contain security incidents. He has a strong track record of successfully leading cross-functional incident handling teams through the adoption and implementation of orchestration methodologies, driving improved efficiency and accuracy.

Tom has accomplished several notable achievements in the cybersecurity industry. He is recognized for his successful defense of a 1,000+ device network against an active ransomware attack, as well as his second-place finish in the Darknet hacking competition at DEFCON 2016. Tom possesses various industry-standard certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Scrum Master, Swimlane Certified SOAR Administrator, and Swimlane Certified SOAR Developer.
